Dear Members and Guests:
I hope that everyone enjoyed our Breast Program last month.  Most importantly, I hope that we will all make a commitment to ourselves to "remain aware", not just in the month of October, but throughout the year.  Remember that you are the only mother that your children have.  Take care of yourselves.
Our Program next month is very exciting to me and I believe the timing is perfect.  Vicki Gray, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Facilitator of The Baby's First Year, a support group for new mothers at South Miami Hospital, will be our guest speaker.  Vicki is very knowledgeable about the ups and downs of parenting and her Presentation is appropriately named: "Dispelling the Myths of Mothering. How to Embrace the
Roller Coaster Ride of Parenting".  We will hear what other mother's go through, how this new role changes our identity and how we can better cope with these changes.
This is a perfect opportunity to bring a friend that might be feeling isolated at home with her new baby.  Motherhood can be lonely if we don't get out and experience it with other women.  So, as always, feel free to invite anyone to come along. 

Looking ahead to December 4th  and our Christmas Bazaar and Holiday Brunch, please feel free to email me at gmherdz@yahoo.com if you or anyone that you know would like to reserve a table to sell.  Space is somewhat limited, but we will do our best to accommodate everyone. We use an honor system.  There is no cost for the table, but we ask that a minimum of 10% of the total sales be donated to the SFPPTA.  We are really interested in vendors who sell items that are in the lower to moderate price range.  Mark your calander and come to Christmas shop at our Holiday Brunch and Bazaar.
 
January's meeting will be just what we all need after the Holidays.  One of our favorite speakers will return, back by popular demand!  Carol Kaminsky, a Registered Movement Therapist will provide a de-stress workshop that we will thoroughly enjoy. Stay tuned for further details in the next few weeks.
 
We have a lot to look forward to for the remainder of the fall and as we look ahead to the upcoming year.  Thanks for coming to our meetings, sharing your experiences and for bringing your friends.  Remember, we are all part of the sisterhood of motherhood.  We have so much in common with so many women.
