Playgroups have been a long standing cornerstone of our organization. Some groups form when the children are babies and have lasted well into elementary school age. They are a lifesaver for the new mom who is finding her way. They bring together women from different backgrounds who have at least one thing in common – a child or children of similar age. They are a great way to form lasting friendships for moms as well as the kids. If you are interested in joining a playgroup, please send me an email at murdochwk@ameritech.net with the days and times you are available, or see me at the membership table at the general meeting and fill out a playgroup form.
We appreciate our members’ participation and we want to recognize those that go the extra mile in helping the South Florida Preschool PTA in any way.
Tanyia Pino is our Volunteer of the Month. Tanyia has two children, Ryan and Benjamin and this is her fourth year with the SFPPTA. During those four years, she has been a very active member. She has served on the Board in multiple capacities, and is always helping out in any way that she can. In the month of February, Tanyia hosted the Garage Sale, which was a huge success, and two days later hosted book club. Thank you, Tanyia, for all your hard work and enthusiasm!
Are You or any Mom you know interested in furthering your education?
If so, this is the opportunity for you! The South Florida Preschool PTA would like to help a Mom who is interested in expanding her educational horizon.
We will be awarding a $1,000 Scholarship to be used towards vocational, language, or higher education purposes. You do not need to be currently enrolled in an educational program to apply. The funds are available for 1 year from the date of issue.
To apply, complete the application form, obtain one letter of recommendation, and write a one to two paragraph essay describing how you would utilize the funds if you were awarded the Annual SFPPTA Scholarship.

We now have three new and easy opportunities to help raise money for the South Florida Preschool PTA that will not cost us that much. They are Empties4Cash, Fundraizine and The Entertainment Book.
Empties4Cash is an ink cartridge recycling program. We can raise anywhere from $0.25 up to $2.00 for every ink cartridge we send them. So don’t throw away your ink cartridges!!!
The Entertainment Book we have all seen at one time or another. Each book sells for $35 but will pay for itself with all the coupons that it has.
Macy*s Shop for a Cause is an easy fundraising opportunity. The sale date is Saturday, October 13th beginning at 8:00 a.m. We can start selling the 20% off coupons now and SFPPTA gets to keep all the proceeds for our wonderful community service projects.
