Ways and Means
Ways and Means is the fundraising committee of the South Florida Preschool PTA. You may have known that the money raised by Ways and Means is used to cover the general operating expenses such as the rent for our monthly meeting site, speakers, and committee budgets. But did you know that Ways and Means is also how the South Florida Preschool PTA helps those in need? The money we raise through advertising, garage sales, cookie dough sales, T-shirt sales and cookbook sales are used in programs such as Prevent Blindness, Adopt-A-Family, Scholarships and much, much more!
So Ways and Means needs your help. If you don't do your part to raise money to help others, who will?
Here are some examples of our annual fundraising activities that you too can be a part of and make a difference in the lives of others in our community.
Advertising
Advertisements are sold at the beginning of each year for publication in our monthly newsletter, "The Preschool Press," and on our website at www.SFPPTA.org. Advertisements are a great way for local businesses to promote their goods and services to our members and their families.

Garage Sale
In the fall, the SFPPTA hold an annual garage sale. In the past, we have raised over $1,500 at our garage sales!! Donating all your unwanted clothes, household goods, baby items, furniture, books, etc., is a great way to clean out your closets and garage and donate to a great cause at the same time. Please remember to donate items that you would like to purchase yourself. Bring your clothes in good condition (clean, please!) and on a hanger to make it easier to organize and sell. It is also helpful to bring toys with all the pieces in a clear plastic bag to keep things organized.

Cookie Dough Sale
Yummy, yummy treats for the tummy! Our cookie dough sales are a big hit for family and friends each year! Each member should be able to sell at least one tub of cookie dough or any of the other scrumptious items available. The good news is that this sale is done just in time for the Holidays. These items make great gifts, or you can bake these tasty treats for your holiday parties and impress everyone with your culinary skills.

T-Shirt Sales
Choose from our wide selection of SFPPTA wear and accessories sold online through our SFPPTA Store. We have great "Got Kids?" T-shirts in white and mens blue T-shirts with the South Florida Preschool PTA logo. Please buy an SFPPTA T-shirt for you and your children to wear during community outings to identify you as SFPPTA members and to provide exposure for our organization.
Cookbooks
Sometimes, coming up with something new to make for dinner or for special guests is not easy. Well, the SFPPTA has a solution for that problem. We have asked our members to share their secret family recipes and incorporated them into one great cookbook, "Cooking with Friends." Next time you are in a pinch, you have a treasure of recipes right at your fingertips. These treasures are only $8.00 and can be bought at our monthly meetings. Buy one for your private collection and remember cookbooks make great gifts! Go to our SFPPTA Store to purchase one of these great cookbooks. Hurry while supplies last!!
E-Scrip
If you are the type of person who is not into fundraising but loves to spend money on your credit card, then this is the fundraiser for you! It is easy and only requires that you log on to www.escrip.com, fill out your information, enter the South Florida Preschool PTA ID number, 148992998, and shop away! Every time you use your registered credit cards at participating retailers from your local gas stations to Macy's, the South Florida Preschool PTA receives a portion back. You can select up to 3 schools, groups or organizations to receive contributions. It couldn't be any easier to raise money for SFPPTA!

Ink Cartridge Recycling
We have partnered with Empties4Cash to recycle our used inkjet and laser cartridges. Bring them to our meetings and we will send them to Empties4Cash to easily raise money for the SFPPTA.
Macy*s Shop for a Cause
On October 13, 2007, Macy's will open its doors at 8:00 a.m. and people with the special coupon will be able to purchase at a 20% discount. How do they get the coupon? We sell it to them for $5.00. The great thing about this fundraiser is that we get to keep all the proceeds. We need to start selling those coupons now. Contact Janet Moorhead at jabea65@netzero.net for additional information.
Entertainment Book
The Entertainment Book has hundreds of coupons that are good for local business and they also have savings on hotels and car rentals. Each book sells for $30. Purchase your copy of The Entertainment Book!
